Welcome to Rotary International of Portage, Wisconsin.

We are proud of the camaraderie of our members, and hope that you can see the friendships we share at our luncheon and social gatherings. We hope that membership in this club is helpful to our members personally and professionally.

Community friendships are only one part of our purposes. As part of Rotary International we emphasize "SERVICE ABOVE SELF". Our club has made significant contributions to the world wide progam, "Polio Plus". In this major undertaking, the Portage Club helped provide immunizations against polio and other diseases in under privileged countries.

On the local level, our club's primary emphasis has been the sponsorship of scholarships for Portage Turner High School graduates. Portage Rotary provides the largest single 4-year scholarship at the High School. Additional "starter" scholarships and Technical School scholarships are also offered. Raising money to fund these scholarships is the only major club project of the year. The money is raised through an annual raffle, a golf outting and beverage stands at community functions. Participation in these efforts is greatly appriciated.

We do have another weekly fund raising at our meetings called "HAPPY BUCKS". These funds are used for "Club Sunshine", but also we support Santa's Workshop, Portage Food Pantry, St. Vincent dePaul Food Pantry, and other community, national and international projects.

Occasionally our district may sponsor a Group Study Exchange which consists of professionals from another country visiting our community. This same program allows professionals, not Rotarians, to go abroad and learn about their worl in other countries.

Portage Rotary also contributes to the annual School Safety Patrol trip to Washington D.C., Portage Athletic Boosters, Portage High School Music Boosters, and other community activities. Our club also contributes to national projects and international projects such as children's hospital in Bulgaria.

Thank you for your interest in Portage Rotary. We hope to see you soon. For more information, come to our weekly meeting at Dino's Restaurant at noon.
